About The Position

Account Manager IDS Marine | Full-Time | Portland, OR (Field-Based) About IDS Marine IDS Marine is a leading provider of dealer management software (DMS) and business intelligence solutions purpose-built for the marine industry. Our platform empowers marine dealerships across the U.S. and Canada to modernize operations, increase profitability, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. As we expand our market presence, we are looking for driven Account Managers to grow and manage relationships with our dealership customers. Position Summary The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of IDS Marine dealer accounts. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through strong customer relationships, a deep understanding of dealer operations, and proactive identification of upsell and cross-sell opportunities. A defining feature of this role is time spent in the field — alongside customers and teammates — developing deep product knowledge, industry fluency, and solution-selling expertise. The ideal candidate is based in the Portland, Oregon area and combines a consultative sales mindset with genuine curiosity about the marine industry.

Requirements

  • Based in the Portland, Oregon metro area with the ability to travel up to 50% for customer visits and industry events.
  • 3+ years of experience in account management or Saas sales.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue growth targets.
  • Strong consultative communication skills — comfortable presenting to dealership leadership and C-suite contacts.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or equivalent) and standard productivity tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in marine, powersports, RV, or automotive dealership industries.
  • Background in dealer management software (DMS), ERP, or vertical SaaS products.
  • Familiarity with dealership operations including parts, service, F&I, and inventory management.
  • Experience supporting customers through software migrations or platform modernization projects.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a portfolio of active IDS Marine dealer accounts, serving as the primary business relationship contact.
  • Conduct regular business reviews (QBRs) to assess account health, review KPIs, and align on customer goals.
  • Build relationships across dealership roles including GMs, F&I managers, parts managers, and service directors.
  • Spend significant time in the field with customers and IDS Marine colleagues, immersing in day-to-day dealership operations to build authentic industry expertise.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the IDS Marine product suite to credibly demonstrate how solutions address specific dealer pain points.
  • Apply a solution-selling approach — diagnosing customer challenges before prescribing products, and framing value in terms of dealer business outcomes.
  • Shadow experienced teammates and participate in joint customer visits to accelerate ramp and continuously sharpen selling skills.
  • Translate field insights into actionable feedback for Product, Marketing, and Sales leadership.
  • Identify, develop, and close upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing account base.
  • Partner with the Sales team on new module adoption, platform upgrades, and ancillary product offerings.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue growth targets.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting data in the CRM system.
  • Drive software adoption by educating customers on features, best practices, and new capabilities within the IDS Marine platform.
  • Collaborate with Implementation and Support teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing utilization.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally, surfacing product feedback to the Product and Engineering teams.
  • Go on-site to learn from customers and help them solve problems.
  • Represent IDS Marine at key industry events.
  • Stay current on marine dealer market trends, competitive landscape, and dealer challenges to position IDS Marine solutions effectively.
