About The Position

The Account Manager - Commercial Lines role is responsible for managing an assigned book of business, focusing on ensuring account retention and supporting new business initiatives. This position involves coordinating daily administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues, and maintaining accuracy to prevent errors or omissions. The role requires a strong understanding of the construction and real estate industries, and the ideal candidate will be adept at technical competence, team leadership, and delivering excellent customer service. The position is primarily remote, supporting the Eastern and Central Time Zones, with a focus on supporting the Longwood, FL branch. While remote, there may be occasions requiring on-site presence for business needs, especially for those within a 50-mile radius of a branch. Remote work requires a dedicated, distraction-free workspace and is not a substitute for personal care responsibilities during working hours.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
  • Required active licensing
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Direct daily activities of the account management team.
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
  • Monitor accounts receivable reports and take action on delinquent accounts, collecting outstanding balances.
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and any issues.
  • Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance.
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership.
