About The Position

Preston Phipps is seeking a talented, entrepreneurial, and technical salesperson to join their team. The ideal candidate will be motivated to solve engineering issues and help customers make informed decisions to optimize the efficiency, safety, and longevity of their mechanical systems. This role requires becoming a product and application expert and driving sales opportunities from qualification to closing.

Requirements

  • 5 years in engineering sales capacity working with contractors, consultants, and end users
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or industry/sales experience equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the sales process and customer service
  • Excellent communication, follow up, organizational and project tracking skills
  • Commitment to driving sales and being active in the territory
  • Disciplined, driven, professional with a positive work ethic
  • Strong technical acumen and problem-solving capacity
  • Driver’s licence and clean driving record
  • Alignment with values of Entrepreneurship, Integrity, Respect, Partnership, Success, and Innovation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in steam, hot water, and/or laboratory critical air are favorable

Responsibilities

  • Grow sales with assigned accounts
  • Balance time with contractors, end users, and engineering consultant accounts
  • Develop relationships and working knowledge of customers
  • Prioritize learning mechanical systems and decision-making processes of end users
  • Understand the scope and types of projects contractors work on and leverage projects to teach them about product and application
  • Promote product, support design, and lead take offs on project tenders for engineers
  • Build relationships with Preston Phipps manufacturing partners and Preston Phipps Divisions to deepen technical resources
  • Work with other account managers to develop multi-location accounts
  • Prioritize in-person meetings with accounts
