About The Position

The Account Manager will manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business. This role involves coordinating day-to-day administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues, and ensuring accuracy in all transactions. The position requires maintaining technical competence and industry expertise, directing the account management team, and handling all aspects of customer service, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis. Key responsibilities include managing policy expirations and renewals, conducting client research, preparing submissions, negotiating coverages, and presenting proposals. The role also involves monitoring accounts receivable, maintaining agency management systems, ensuring data accuracy, and monitoring activity to ensure timely completion. Frequent and transparent communication with the account team regarding workload and issues is essential, as is delivering excellent service and proactively anticipating client needs. Staying updated on company policies and procedures and seeking best practices for continuous improvement are also key. The ideal candidate will champion IOA Values, demonstrating integrity and leadership.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
  • Required active P&C license
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

  • Professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.

  • Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and any issues.
  • Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance.
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership.
