Come Join an Inclusive Team. The Sales Account Manager will be based in Houston and represent the company with a mix of customers in Texas, Central US and Illinois. The portfolio is a mix of Direct and Indirect (Distribution) customers that service a broad range of end uses in the industrial and personal care markets. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of I&D Chemical sales performance, which will include but is not limited to volume and margin performance vs. budget, contracts, pricing, supply chain optimization, and the pursuit of new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree required
  • Five plus years of experience in chemical industry or equivalent industry experience (sales experience preferred)
  • Some after-hours work required for customer related activities
  • Ability to travel, 25% typical overnight, and driving in Texas area (company car provided)

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell company products by interacting with established customers and new prospects using both direct and distribution channels to market
  • Acquire a working knowledge of the I&D products and develop end-use market expertise in the product applications
  • Quote prices, terms of sales, and manage any contracting actions for the customers consistent with stated business and sales strategies
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, entertainment, meals and events with appropriate customer personnel, and provide market intelligence to establish and grow relationships
  • Independently seek out and develop leads and prospects that result in incremental sales opportunities
  • Negotiate independently and/or with business support as needed to conduct business
  • Interact and build relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Provide business analysis support for the sales group as needed
