About The Position

Baytech Plastics is seeking a proactive and relationship-focused Account Manager to support and grow existing customer accounts within the injection molding and contract manufacturing sector, while also seeking out new business opportunities and developing new accounts. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day customer relationships, ensuring strong communication, and driving account growth through service excellence, responsiveness, and opportunity identification. The Account Manager will work closely with internal teams including sales, engineering, quality, and operations to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood, communicated, and successfully executed. This is a hands-on, on-site customer-facing role that requires strong organizational skills, technical understanding, and the ability to build trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused professional who excels at building strong, long-term relationships in a B2B manufacturing environment. They are organized, reliable, and thrive in a role centered on account management, customer satisfaction, and steady account growth. They are confident working directly with customers and act as a trusted point of contact, ensuring clear communication between customers and internal teams. They are proactive in identifying opportunities within existing accounts and take ownership of delivering a high level of service and responsiveness. This individual communicates effectively with a range of stakeholders, including engineers, procurement teams, and decision-makers, and builds credibility through consistency and follow-through. A background in manufacturing—particularly injection molding—is a strong asset, enabling them to better understand customer needs and contribute to technical discussions.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in B2B account management, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand technical manufacturing processes and communicate them clearly to customers.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for customer visits and on-site meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with injection molding or plastics manufacturing is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers at multiple levels, including procurement, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and responsiveness.
  • Conduct regular on-site customer visits to understand needs, strengthen relationships, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor account health and proactively address issues or concerns.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business within existing customer accounts.
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and develop new customer accounts and business opportunities within target markets.
  • Collaborate with internal sales leadership to develop strategies for account growth.
  • Support quoting, pricing discussions, and follow-up on new opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Maintain awareness of customer forecasts, programs, and upcoming requirements.
  • Act as the escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (quality, production, engineering, logistics) to resolve issues.
  • Ensure customer expectations are clearly communicated and met consistently.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood.
  • Support the development of quotations and customer proposals in collaboration with sales and estimating teams.
  • Ensure alignment between customer expectations and internal production capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system.
  • Provide regular updates on account status, opportunities, and customer feedback.
  • Support forecasting activities by providing insight into customer demand and timing.
  • Track key performance indicators related to account performance and customer satisfaction.
