Responsibilities

  • Manage sales & marketing strategies for the Utilities market focused on ensuring Noramco becomes the premiere utility suppler.
  • Collaborate with local Account Managers, Sales Managers, and Profit Centre Managers (PCMs) in growing existing Utility customers. Actively engage with new prospects in the utility market. Gather market data and obtain standard cable specifications from all utility companies in the location. Manage local vendor relationships to ensure Noramco Utilities is viewed as a prominent partner for utilities wire and cable. Visit the Profit Centres frequently and develop local marketing strategies with Marketing Manager that will drive sales to PC.
  • Manage local vendor relationships to ensure Noramco Utilities is viewed as a prominent partner for utilities wire and cable. Actively engage in sourcing projects and monitor opportunities in all major public tender platforms. Collaborate with PCMs and Director of Sales Operation-Utility with regards to utility inventories in the local market. Identify areas of opportunities and leverage Noramco’s strategic vendor partners to ensure we consistently receive competitive pricing.
  • Work in conjunction with the PC Manager to ensure an efficient flow of inventory is maintained. Develop forecasting for the location market with the PCMs & Director of Sales Operation-Utility Implement and drive the National Utility Sales Strategies & Initiatives through the PCs.
  • Maintain and grow sales with existing utility contractor accounts through regular in-person and virtual visits, while identifying and pursuing new utility, municipal, and contractor customers within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and implement account plans to achieve sales, margin, and product-mix targets for wire, cable, and accessories.
  • Identify and take advantage of unrealized opportunities for expansion through existing and potential customers, products, tenders, and utility programs.
  • Prepare quotes, negotiate pricing and terms within company guidelines, and follow through to order conversion.
  • Monitor market and industry trends, competitor offerings, pricing activity, and code or standard changes that may affect sales plans, customer opportunities, or company strategy.
  • Build strong long-term relationships at multiple levels within each utility account, including purchasing, engineering, operations, and stores/warehouse teams.
  • Meet regularly with accounts to understand their specific needs, identify business growth opportunities, and recommend appropriate company support.
  • Conduct regular business reviews, pipeline and project follow-ups, and debriefs with key accounts.
  • Introduce appropriate internal team members to customer contacts to support relationship development at all levels.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate wire, cable, and accessory solutions compliant with utility and industry standards.
  • Support specification, tender, and RFQ processes, including reviewing BOMs, drawings, and standards for compliance.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and internal technical resources on product selection, alternates, approvals, and value-add options.
  • Support new product introductions and approvals with utility engineering groups.
  • Participate in manufacturer and industry training to maintain strong technical product knowledge.
  • Work closely with Sales Support and operations to ensure accurate order entry, on-time delivery, inventory alignment, freight claims, and reel returns.
  • Maintain accurate APT records, and transition to CRM when implemented, for all customer interactions, opportunities, quotes, and projects.
  • Provide regular forecasts and project pipelines to management.
  • Monitor tenders and bids, track win/loss results, and report competitive activity, pricing, market conditions, and developing trends.
  • Ensure all job functions are performed in accordance with the Guillevin Standard Practice Instruction (SPI) Manual.
