About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic Account Manager to lead Technical Sales in the Edmonton and Northwest Alberta region. This role goes beyond traditional account management. You will work directly with industrial customers to understand their manufacturing processes, assess compressed air systems, and design technically sound solutions that support reliability, efficiency, and production goals. This position is well suited for a hunter minded technical seller who enjoys prospecting, spending time inside industrial plants, and working closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams. You will be responsible for developing new business while also growing and supporting existing accounts through consultative, solution focused selling. You can expect to spend four to five days per week traveling to customer sites throughout the region, with occasional travel to more remote areas.

Requirements

  • Proven experience selling industrial equipment or engineered systems in a technical sales role.
  • Strong technical/mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and plant environments.
  • Demonstrated hunter mindset with the ability to prospect, build pipeline, and close new business.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand compressed air systems and mechanical applications.
  • Comfortable engaging technical and nontechnical stakeholders and translating requirements into practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self motivated and organized with the ability to manage a large territory independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record and willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
  • Valid Canadian passport for occasional US based training travel.

  • Experience with compressed air systems is a strong asset.
  • Degree or diploma in engineering, related technical discipline, or business preferred, with equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation and Prospecting - proactively identify and pursue new customers and opportunities within industrial and manufacturing environments, building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Territory Growth - achieve annual equipment and service sales targets by developing and executing effective territory strategies focused on both new business development and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Technical Solution Selling - assess customer requirements, conduct site walkdowns and system reviews, analyze applications, and design technically sound compressed air solutions tailored to customer processes and operating conditions.
  • System Assessment and Application Understanding - work directly inside customer plants to understand manufacturing processes, compressed air demand, and system constraints to recommend properly sized and configured equipment.
  • Proposal and Quotation Development - prepare technical quotations, proposals, and business cases, and manage the sales process from initial engagement through to successful close.
  • CARE Programs - promote and sell Wiseworth CARE Programs with every new equipment sale, expand CARE coverage within existing accounts, and introduce CARE Programs to new non-Ingersoll Rand customers to drive recurring revenue and long-term customer relationships.
  • Customer Relationship Management - build and maintain long term partnerships with maintenance teams, engineers, operations leaders, and decision makers by providing trusted advice, responsive support, and practical solutions.
  • Travel and Territory Coverage - visit customer accounts consistently across the Cariboo and Northern region of British Columbia, with an expectation that 60 to 80 percent of time will be spent on the road, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Market and Industry Awareness - stay informed on competitor activity, industry trends, and available incentive programs such as BC Hydro and Fortis to effectively position Wiseworth solutions.
  • Internal Collaboration - work closely with service, parts, engineering, and leadership teams to support project execution, installations, and ongoing customer success.
  • CRM and Reporting - maintain accurate and up to date records of sales activities, opportunities, contacts, and forecasts within the company CRM system.
