Verizon is hiring an Account Manager to drive sales, increase service revenue, and manage relationships for business accounts in the 1–19 employee segment. The role combines new-business prospecting and acquisition with retention, management, and growth of existing accounts. The Account Manager consults with customers to understand business challenges, recommends tailored technology solutions, and explains how those solutions can improve business outcomes and deliver a return on investment. The role involves developing and qualifying leads across an assigned territory through cold calling, partner selling, lead-generation campaigns, and social selling. The Account Manager builds relationships with decision makers, presents multi-product solutions, and sells integrated offerings that include Cloud, Security, ISP, VoIP, and Google platforms. Sales progress is tracked and reported using sales force automation tools and Verizon’s Velocity Selling methodology, which uses AI and CRM tools to support automation, predictive analysis, and personalized customer interactions. This is a mobile role, primarily based at customer or field locations, with occasional visits to a Verizon location for in-person training and meetings. Travel within the assigned geographic sales territory may be up to approximately 50% of the time. The scheduled workweek is 40 hours. Compensation is commission-based and includes base pay and target individual commission, with earning potential affected by geography, performance, and experience. The listed annual salary range for New York locations is $33,500–$59,000. Eligible external hires may receive a $2,500 sign-on bonus and new-hire incentives up to $7,500.
