About The Position

The Account Manager – Power Systems is responsible for effectively managing their territory, ensuring customer satisfaction while building and strengthening relationships. This role involves providing recommendations and product support to customers to achieve the lowest possible cost per hour of machine operation. The Account Manager serves as the primary contact for all parts and services programs, manages fleet support, and is responsible for reporting customer opportunities and complex issues to the proper channels for resolution. A key responsibility is implementing a condition monitoring program, including machine inspections, product link data, site/application audits, and SOS Data to reduce cost per hour and downtime, in collaboration with on-site inspectors and field service technicians. The role also requires providing weekly detailed repair status reports to customers, identifying and offering solutions for bottlenecks in the machine repair process to increase machine availability, and maintaining a significant presence on customer sites to monitor conditions and their effect on equipment. The Account Manager will report findings and recommendations to customer's senior management and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 7 or more years of experience
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manages their territory, ensuring customer satisfaction while building and strengthening relationships with customers.
  • Continuously works with the customer to provide the lowest possible cost per hour of machine operation by providing recommendations and product support offerings.
  • Serves as the customer's primary contact for all parts and services programs, and to make sure that the customer is kept current on all of these programs.
  • Manages fleet support and solely responsible for reporting customer opportunities and complex issues, routing them to the proper channels and ensuring resolution.
  • Implement a condition monitoring program that includes machine inspections, product link data, site/application audits and SOS Data to implement an effective Repair Backlog program to reduce cost per hour and downtime.
  • Ensure weekly detailed repair status reports are provided to customers on the status of machine repairs and Repair Backlog Issues.
  • Identify and offer solutions for bottle necks in the machine repair process helping to increase machine availability.
  • Maintain significant presence on customer sites to monitor site conditions, machine application, operations and their effect on the Caterpillar equipment and components.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
