About The Position

Backed by a fifth-generation family-owned company, Spicers is a leading distributor of commercial print and business papers, specialty products, graphic solutions, sign & display equipment and materials, and packaging and facility supplies and equipment. Partnering with trusted global manufacturers, we source, stock, market and distribute a diverse range of quality products. We’re based in Vaughan, Ontario, with 15 regional locations that include custom manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg, as well as cash and carry locations, product showrooms and equipment demo sites. Spicers Canada is part of Central National Gottesman Inc. (CNG), a global seller and distributor of paper, pulp, packaging materials, metals and wood products. We are currently looking for a full-time Account Manager, Packaging located in Winnipeg, Manitoba reporting to the Sales Director, Western Region.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience
• Proven experience in account management, specifically handling large or national accounts
• Demonstrated success in new business development and regional sales
• Experience in inside sales environments
• Experience with packaging and facility products or environments
• Ability to travel regionally as needed to meet with clients
• Multilingual capabilities to support diverse client bases
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage customer accounts
• Proficiency in CRM software and/or sales analytics tools
• Punctual, dependable, and reliable
• Excellent teamwork and ability to work independently
• Self-directed and self-motivated
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Nice To Haves

• Post-secondary degree or diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience an asset
• Industry knowledge considered an asset
• Advanced degree or professional certification in sales or account management
• Familiarity with industry-specific market trends and competitive landscape

Responsibilities

• Expand current customer base through new business growth
• Manage and nurture relationships with large and key accounts to maximize customer retention and satisfaction
• Develop and execute strategic account plans to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within assigned territories
• Collaborate with inside sales and cross-functional teams to coordinate efforts and deliver customized solutions to clients
• Monitor account performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior management on sales progress and client feedback
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure profitable deals while maintaining strong client partnerships
• Other duties as assigned
