About The Position

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Supply Chain team is responsible for collaborating with suppliers and P&W’s product development teams (IPT’s) to ensure we deliver affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs. The candidate should be customer focused, have strong communication skills, and demonstrates the ability to deliver results. Must be a U.S citizen and willing to apply for government security clearance. New Product Introduction is a highly specialized area of Global Supply Chain, guided by the Chapter 10 principles in the RTX Supply Chain Playbook. We have responsibility to all aspects of supply chain management; from sourcing strategy, to order placement, and delivery assurance. Our products are frequently based on cutting edge technologies and designs in support of military and commercial next generation engine platforms. Purchasing is typically done on a spot buy basis, giving the NPI Account Manager the opportunity to negotiate pricing and terms. This position requires exceptional problem-solving skills & the ability to leverage working relationships across the many P&W functional groups; Quality, Materials, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, MCL, ESA, Regional Offices, Programs and multiple suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in supply chain, manufacturing, industrial management, or related field; or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • U.S. Citizen - The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Creating the sourcing strategy and coordinating source selection
  • Creation of Request For Quotes (RFQ)/Request for Proposal's (RFP's), Purchase Orders
  • Evaluating and coordinating approval of supplier exceptions to Terms & Conditions
  • Coordinate invoice approvals and payment issue resolution
  • Identify supplier strengths & weaknesses to support the strategic sourcing plan
  • Proactively tracks and manages supplier work in process (WIP), identifies risks to planned delivery, and maintains promise dating
  • Maintains the purchase order as technical definition changes and identifies risks to the quoted price and lead time.
  • Uses the minimum requirements standard work as a competitive advantage
  • Use relevant tools to drive part shortage resolution, and coordinates part shipping and tracking
  • Evaluate risks in the transition from development to low-rate production
  • Evaluate supplier performance and collaborate with Strategic Sourcing Managers and Account Managers as needed
  • Interpreting Technology and Manufacturing Readiness Levels (TRL & MRL)
  • Evaluating supplier capabilities relative to MRL
  • Coordinating supplier actions relative to MRL progression
  • Coordinate resolution of quality issues, QN’s, and RCCA for supplier quality escapes
  • Identify and manage supplier risks to the program industrial plan
