About The Position

Legacy Risk Solutions is seeking an experienced Individual Benefits Account Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for supporting and servicing clients with individual insurance and benefits needs, providing knowledgeable guidance throughout the application, enrollment, renewal, and ongoing policy service process. The ideal candidate is a client-focused insurance professional with strong knowledge of individual health and benefits products, carrier requirements, and enrollment processes. This individual serves as a trusted resource for clients, helping them understand their coverage options, navigate policy questions, and resolve service issues while maintaining strong relationships with carrier partners and internal teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Active Accident, Sickness & Life Insurance License required.
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of insurance experience, preferably supporting individual health, life, or related benefits products.
  • Strong knowledge of individual insurance products, carrier requirements, enrollment processes, and policy servicing.
  • Experience working directly with individual clients and carrier partners preferred.
  • Experience with carrier websites, quoting platforms, enrollment systems, and agency management systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain insurance terminology and coverage information in a clear, client-friendly manner.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, applications, renewals, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve client service, billing, claims, and enrollment issues.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and carrier partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and service a book of individual benefits clients throughout the policy lifecycle, including new enrollments, renewals, policy changes, and ongoing service needs.
  • Assist clients in understanding available individual insurance options and identifying solutions that align with their coverage needs and circumstances.
  • Prepare and review individual benefit quotes, applications, renewal information, and supporting documentation.
  • Market and analyze available individual benefit products, coverage options, and rates across appropriate carrier partners.
  • Explain plan benefits, premiums, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, networks, exclusions, and other important coverage provisions to clients.
  • Coordinate new business applications and enrollments, ensuring required information and documentation are complete and submitted to carriers accurately and on time.
  • Assist existing clients with annual renewals and evaluate alternative coverage options when appropriate.
  • Monitor pending applications and enrollment activity and proactively follow up with clients and carriers to ensure timely completion.
  • Process policy changes and qualifying life event requests through carrier websites and applicable online administration portals.
  • Respond to client questions and service requests involving coverage, enrollment status, billing, claims, ID cards, policy documents, and other benefit-related needs.
  • Research and resolve billing, claims, enrollment, and policy administration issues by coordinating with clients and carrier partners.
  • Assist clients with obtaining replacement ID cards, policy documents, and other carrier materials as needed.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of carrier products, eligibility requirements, underwriting guidelines, enrollment periods, and applicable individual benefits regulations.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with carrier representatives and other business partners.
  • Provide timely and responsive service to client calls and emails, with a goal of responding to inquiries within one business day.
  • Maintain complete and accurate client records, communications, applications, policy documents, and other activity within the agency management system.
  • Attend relevant carrier meetings, continuing education seminars, webinars, and training to maintain current knowledge of individual insurance products and industry developments.
  • Participate in scheduled team meetings and collaborate with other team members to support department goals.
  • Provide account management backup and support to the team when needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client service, workflows, and internal processes.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
