About The Position

Mitsubishi Chemical is seeking an experienced sales professional with deep knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry and a passion for developing strategic customer relationships to drive growth across our Oil & Gas business in the Americas. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining profitable relationships with both existing and new customers while identifying opportunities to expand our business. You'll combine technical knowledge, strategic account management, and new business development to grow the sales pipeline, expand key accounts, and deliver solutions that address complex customer needs. This is a highly customer-facing position requiring approximately 60% to 70% travel, with occasional international travel. The successful candidate should enjoy being in the market, visiting customers, developing relationships, attending industry events, and identifying new opportunities throughout the Americas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or technical roles, with Oil & Gas market experience considered an advantage
  • Strong working knowledge of the Oil & Gas market across the Americas, including large OEMs, mid-sized and small companies, and startups
  • Extensive sales experience with the ability to develop and grow strategic customer relationships
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand a broad product portfolio
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas materials and related molding, extrusion, and casting applications
  • Ability to engage and influence senior-level customer stakeholders
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time-management capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow existing accounts and expand the customer base
  • Identify and pursue new customers throughout the Oil & Gas market
  • Generate new business through networking, prospecting, cold calling, industry events, and relationship development
  • Drive opportunities through the sales cycle from initial engagement through close
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional products and solutions
  • Meet or exceed established sales targets and business objectives
  • Develop strong, profitable, long-term relationships with customers
  • Understand customer applications, challenges, and business needs to deliver tailored solutions
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels, including senior executives
  • Provide timely responses to customer requests and inquiries

  • Support customers with solutions involving polymers, molded and machined parts, films, and other Oil & Gas materials
  • Collaborate with technical teams to provide product information, application support, and technical guidance
  • Review customer needs and recommend solutions that address technical and commercial challenges
  • Support quoting and estimating activities based on customer-provided conceptual engineering prints
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective and existing customers
  • Negotiate contracts and participate in pricing agreements
  • Generate, qualify, and follow up on sales leads
  • Build a strong pipeline of new and existing account opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to expand product penetration within strategic accounts
  • Balance revenue growth with the development of profitable, sustainable customer relationships
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers, competitors, and emerging opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of industry regulations and standards
  • Stay current on technical advancements, competitive products, and evolving customer requirements
