The Account Manager is responsible for assisting commercial lending officers with their loan portfolios and performing a variety of duties to meet the commercial services needs of the business customers. This individual will achieve customer service goals as established in the Commercial Services Division’s annual operating plan while complying with operating policies and procedures established for the commercial services function.

Requirements

  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field normally required; specialized commercial services education and training.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience in related positions normally required.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
  • Proficient ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
  • A thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all commercial and retail products and services.
  • A working knowledge of financial services operating policies and procedures which impact commercial services.
  • Proficient PC skills.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less.
  • Visual, auditory and speaking skills.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists commercial lending officers with portfolio administration duties; obtains and reviews financial statements, borrowing base certificates and/or other information; prepares reports and pricing models; performs collateral inspections.
  • Manages a portfolio of commercial loan accounts and develops relationships to support and retain customer relationships.
  • Achieves goals assigned to the Account Manager as part of the Commercial Loan Department’s annual operating plan.
  • Identifies loans that require an annual review; works with lenders to gather information necessary to complete annual reviews.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all commercial products and services in order to ascertain customer needs; refers information to the appropriate calling officer.
  • Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other departments as necessary; provides help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Administers lines of credit; produces/maintains line of credit reports and tickler; ensures lines of credit are compliant with terms and conditions.
  • Prepares new credit requests for credit underwriting.
  • Works with lenders to resolve problems with line of credit renewals.
  • Assists loan officer with loan structure and loan closings.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of operating policies and procedures which impact commercial services.
  • Contacts attorneys and/or title companies to obtain all missing/inaccurate information to clear exceptions; obtains corrected documents.
  • Works with lenders to ensure that delinquent taxes are paid and insurance is current.
  • Plays an active role in protecting the organization and its customers against fraud by incorporating risk awareness and prevention into daily responsibilities.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records of all customer service calls made and meetings held with present and prospective customers.
  • Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
  • Communicates with department management, other department managers, and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
  • Performs tasks, which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
