About The Position

Munich Re Specialty Group North America (MRSG N.A.) is seeking a full-time Account Manager, Commercial Insurance, to join the Roanoke Insurance Group division as a hybrid employee in our Charleston, SC office. This role reports to the Regional Product Manager, Commercial Insurance. The position involves managing policy renewals, marketing new business submissions, analyzing coverage forms, preparing applications and proposals, and communicating with clients, producers, and insurance markets. The Account Manager will utilize the Agency Management System (Applied Epic), check incoming policies and endorsements, prepare invoices, and issue binders and certificates of insurance. The role also includes generating surplus lines affidavits, handling correspondence, and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders. Additionally, the position may involve performing specific duties and projects assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years’ property/casualty insurance experience, preferably with direct client contact
  • Aptitude working with Agency Management software; Applied System Epic, preferred
  • Pursue a program for professional development including attending and maintaining continuing education (CE) credit, as necessary for licensing.
  • Understanding of most types of property/casualty insurance
  • Ability to analyze insurance policies and compare different coverage forms
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and comply with deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Manage policy renewals with markets and producers
  • Market new business submissions with markets and producers
  • Review and analyze various coverage forms
  • Prepare ACORD® or custom applications from information provided by producers and clients
  • Submit applications to various markets, tracking status and outcome of requests.
  • Prepare proposals, transmit to clients, and address any questions from clients or other staff
  • Communicate with clients, producers, and insurance markets to process coverage changes and respond to questions
  • Utilize our Agency Management System (Applied Epic) fully and adhere to internal process instructions
  • Check incoming policies, endorsements, and audits for accuracy. Prepare and transmit invoices to clients. Prepare premium finance agreements
  • Issue and manage binders and certificates of insurance for clients as needed.
  • Generate surplus lines affidavits as needed
  • Handle telephone requests and written correspondence (internal and external).
  • Maintain positive relationships with insurance markets, internal teams, and clients
  • Perform other specific duties and projects assigned by management
