About The Position

Pennylane is seeking an Account Executive to join their Medium Accounting Firms team. This role is focused on understanding the accounting and management challenges faced by SMEs and accounting firms, and demonstrating how Pennylane can provide solutions. The Account Executive will be responsible for a specific region in France, aiming to convince medium-sized accounting firms within their territory to adopt Pennylane. This involves conducting meetings (remote and in-person) to understand client needs, presenting Pennylane's offerings, and closing sales. Post-sale, the role includes client relationship management to foster loyalty, increase the number of clients using Pennylane, and coordinate support teams. The position also involves targeted prospecting, collaborating with client-facing sales teams, analyzing performance, and sharing best practices. The role is based in Metz/Nancy and requires significant travel within the Grand Est region.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in sales roles, ideally in B2B SaaS with long and complex deals involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in Account Management is ideal.
  • Enjoy client relationships and spending time with prospects/clients, including lunches, trade shows, and field visits.
  • Creative and persistent in achieving goals within their area of responsibility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the sales profession, proposing solutions to encountered problems.
  • Strong collaboration skills with other teams.
  • Knowledge of the accounting-tech/fin-tech ecosystem.
  • Professional-level English proficiency for internal communication and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the accounting and management challenges of SME leaders and accounting firms.
  • Present Pennylane and demonstrate its value proposition to accounting firms.
  • Close sales with accounting firms, encouraging them to manage a significant portion of their client portfolio on Pennylane.
  • Retain and grow the number of clients using Pennylane within their portfolio.
  • Coordinate with support teams to ensure service quality meets client expectations.
  • Develop a network of advocate firms that can refer other practices.
  • Interact with client-facing sales teams to ensure a smooth client-firm virtuous cycle.
  • Conduct targeted prospecting (emails, hot calls, event participation) for high-potential firms.
  • Analyze performance, learn from team members, and share techniques to improve team performance.
