Account Executive, Domain Name Inventory

D3Los Angeles, CA
$85,000 - $105,000Hybrid

About The Position

About D3: D3 is building the world's first purpose-built blockchain for DomainFi, bringing domain tokenization and DeFi primitives to a $360B+ real-world asset class. We are changing how existing and future domain names are owned, traded, and financed. Our team is stacked with operators who spent the last three decades shaping the internet, from pioneering domain monetization to architecting core internet protocols to launching and running major TLDs like .xyz, .inc, .tv, and .link. We closed a $25M Series A led by Paradigm, one of the best investors in the industry. The round funds our mission to bring domains fully on-chain and open new financial rails for one of the internet's most valuable asset classes. We are globally distributed with team members across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. We are looking for driven builders to help us grow a trillion-dollar DomainFi economy. Join us! Job Overview: We are seeking an Account Executive to help grow our Web2 Supply channel: sourcing domain inventory from domainers, brokers, and portfolio owners, and driving that inventory to sell-through and owner payout. This is an individual contributor hunter role, reporting into the Director, Business Development. It is a ramp seat into a senior commercial career at D3. This is a partner-facing role for someone who can run a full sales cycle, learn a disciplined methodology, and grow inside a fast-moving early-stage company. You will work directly with domain owners and portfolio holders, and internally with Commercial, Marketing, Product, and Operations to bring in inventory that performs well on our platform.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of B2B sales experience, with meaningful time in a closing role or a promoted BDR seat.
  • Documented track record of outbound prospecting and moving deals through a full cycle.
  • Working knowledge of a named sales methodology (SPIN, MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, or Challenger) and coachability to run it.
  • Written discipline. You put proposals, terms, and follow-ups in writing and in CRM by default.
  • Comfort with how domain owners and portfolio holders actually communicate: async, off-hours, across chat, text, and email rather than scheduled calls.
  • Startup temperament. You adjust, you re-forecast, and you keep selling when priorities shift.
  • You can operate cross-functionally, and you communicate clearly and in writing across Commercial, Marketing, Product, Legal, and Operations.
  • Los Angeles metro area, in office at least three days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the domain name ecosystem: aftermarket brokerage, registrar or registry sales, marketplace roles at Afternic, Sedo, Dan, GoDaddy, Squadhelp, or similar.
  • Existing relationships with active domainers, portfolio holders, and industry brokers.
  • Exposure to Web3, tokenization, or DeFi concepts, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Experience selling into non-traditional buyers who transact across multiple informal channels.
  • Prior early-stage or Series A experience where product and go-to-market evolved rapidly.

Responsibilities

  • Build and work an outbound pipeline of domain names sourced from domainers, brokers, and portfolio holders in your assigned segment.
  • Own the top of funnel for your book. You will be given segment coverage, not a lead list.
  • Prospect through the channels the domain owner market actually uses: Linkedin, X, Telegram, WhatsApp, email, and select industry events.
  • Maintain a live target list and detailed deal pipeline of the domain and portfolio owners in your segment.
  • Negotiate acquisition and consignment terms with domain owners for names entering D3's liquidity programs, with target deal sizes.
  • Put every offer and every deal in writing. Submit written proposals as the default, not the exception. All documented with accuracy in CRM
  • Coordinate closely with Legal, Product, and Operations to align on deal scope, timelines, and onboarding requirements.
  • Own your deal desk discipline and forecast honestly.
  • Accountability does not end when a name is signed. You own successful launch into D3's liquidity programs and the cash returned to the owner.
  • Partner with the Commercial, Marketing and Product teams to tune valuation so names actually perform well on platform.
  • Drive trading volume on the inventory you source. Bring in names that actively trade.
  • You are judged on inventory quality measured by sell-through and owner payout, not by count.
  • Serve as a voice of the domain owner inside D3. Feed market signal back to Product on pricing, positioning, and program design.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Engineering and Solutions teams for technical onboarding of portfolio holders.
  • Execute against team playbooks and outreach templates, and flag gaps for the team to refine.
  • Keep all sales communications and deal work in CRM, with a high level of accuracy. This is a requirement.
  • Pipeline reviews using CRM data are done multiple times a week so accuracy is critical.
  • Deals are initiatied by you with team support and close collaboration. It is common to have team members on client calls especially in high value deal making.
