About The Position

Soundstripe is a premier music licensing platform used by more than a million creators and professionals globally to level up their creative works, including tv shows, films, advertising, podcasts, and video games. Launched in 2016 by three professional musicians, the company fuels creativity for all types of customers, from amateur social creators to freelance filmmakers and podcasters to the world’s largest agencies and major brands, like Microsoft, Pepsi, Netflix, Adobe, Fabletics, Bud Light, and more. Since its inception, Soundstripe has issued over 20 million content licenses from its diverse catalog of over 56,000 fully cleared audio tracks, as well as from its catalog of 90,000 sound effects and 100,000 video clips. The company is based in Nashville and its catalog is supported by a roster of award-winning musical artists, including heavy hitters like Sam Barsh (Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar), VAULTZ (Lorde, Maggie Rogers), and Elise Solberg (Beyonce, Ellie Goulding). Our culture blends the creative spirit of the music industry with the data-driven, performance mindset of a high-growth tech company. We thrive on innovation, agility, and driving results that matter. Soundstripe is a 6-time winner of the Tennessean’s Top Workplace Award and a certified Great Place to Work. Learn more about us here. Soundstripe is a remote-friendly company and the team is geographically distributed with a few opportunities for in-person connections each year. We collaborate virtually via Slack and Zoom and never miss a beat. The Opportunity We’re looking for a builder. As an Account Executive, you’ll drive sales of our fast-growing music, sound effects, and video content-licensing plans to businesses of all sizes, from startups and agencies to Fortune 500 marketing and creative teams. Our product is built to be easy to buy and easy to use, much like a small or mid-market SaaS product: straightforward plans, quick decisions, and short sales cycles, often with a handful of stakeholders rather than a committee of twenty. This is a quota-carrying role for someone who is scrappy, resourceful, and genuinely excited to build in the music segment. You’ll work both inbound leads, outbound prospecting, and you’ll help shape how we sell as we grow. You don’t need a perfect playbook to get started. You’ll help write it.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in SaaS, digital media, creative tools, or content licensing, with a record of hitting or beating quota.
  • Experience running a full sales cycle on your own, including self-sourced pipeline.
  • Some experience selling into larger organizations or navigating multiple stakeholders. You don’t need to be an enterprise specialist.
  • Comfort in an early-stage or high-ownership environment where processes are still being built.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and a consultative, solution-oriented approach.
  • Experience with HubSpot (or a similar CRM), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Google Workspace.
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with API, platform, or partnership deals is a plus.
  • Experience selling to marketing teams, creative teams, or agencies is a plus.
  • Music industry or creator economy experience is a big plus.
  • Seriously impressive Slack emoji and GIF skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own a quota and drive to exceed it by selling Soundstripe’s two core business offerings: Standard Business Plans (soundstripe.com/enterprise) and our API Sublicensing Plan (soundstripe.com/enterprise-api).
  • Run the sales cycle yourself: discovery, demos, proposals, negotiation, and close.
  • Build pipeline from scratch through outbound outreach, marketing leads, customer referrals, partner and executive introductions, and your own network. Try new channels and double down on what works.
  • Sell API sublicensing to platforms, apps, and software companies that want to offer licensed music to their own users, and help them understand how the model works and why it’s valuable.
  • Learn our product and licensing rules well enough to explain Soundstripe’s unique value crisply in a crowded content-licensing marketplace.
  • Work closely with the other Account Executive and the Head of Sales to align on target accounts, sales strategies, messaging, and demos.
  • Keep HubSpot clean and current, and share what you learn from the field (objections, competitors, pricing feedback, ideas) so we can improve the product and the process.
  • Write and present proposals and SOWs.
