About The Position

If you have a passion for tech sales, experience selling enterprise IT solutions, and excel at building long-term relationships, this role is for you! Join ePlus as an Account Executive supporting our Public Sector (State, Local Government, and Education) customers across New York City and the surrounding areas. You will engage public agencies and educational institutions, utilizing innovative IT solutions to solve complex challenges in the SLED market. You will have the opportunity to sell a diverse portfolio of services and products from leading technology vendors, OEMs, and enterprise solutions providers. Your Impact The essential functions of this position include:

Requirements

  • Proven success selling to Public Sector / SLED customers at the CXO, VP, or Director levels
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience including selling technology services (data center, cloud, collaboration, network infrastructure, emerging technologies)
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement models, budgets, and RFP/RFQ processes
  • Strong ability to qualify leads, engage new markets, and close new accounts in a SLED environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage SMEs throughout the sales process
  • Ability to take initiative, self-motivate, and drive sales success independently
  • BA/BS preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling AI Solutions and Services is a plus
  • VAR/systems integrator sales experience preferred; prior SLED or public sector territory management strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth within the Public Sector (State, Local, and Education) market
  • Achieve growth objectives through prospecting, active lead management, and relationship building with public sector organizations, including K–12, higher education, and state/local government agencies
  • Maintain and grow existing client revenues through cross-selling of ePlus core competencies
  • Establish and maintain manufacturer/partner relationships to develop joint public sector sales opportunities
  • Implement an ongoing account management plan, including leveraging all specialized resources
  • Provide monthly forecasts and quarterly reviews for assigned territory
  • Travel up to 30% may be required within NYC and surrounding regions (limited overnight travel; occasional air travel as needed)
