About The Position

Times Union Media Group is seeking an Account Executive or Strategic Account Executive to join their team. This role involves owning the sales cycle, managing a book of business, building client relationships, and driving new business. Requirements

  • 2+ years experience for Account Executive and 5+ years for Strategic Account Executive role with business-to-business sales experience, preferably in media, advertising, or marketing.
  • A successful history of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred), Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Sales Cycle: From cold outreach to closing, consult with businesses to deliver custom print and digital media campaigns.
  • Manage Book of Business: Work with assigned existing clients to ensure campaign success and upsell additional solutions.
  • Build Client Relationships: Serve as a trusted marketing advisor, understanding client goals and recommending solutions across various media channels.
  • Drive New Business: Prospect new leads through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and community engagement.
  • Leverage Cutting-Edge Tools: Use advanced sales platforms like ChatGPT Enterprise and Gong.io to increase efficiency, improve messaging, and shorten the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work closely with account managers and internal teams to ensure seamless campaign execution.
  • Track Performance: Manage pipeline and forecasting in Salesforce, ensuring accurate revenue projections and reporting.
