About The Position

Responsible for group health renewals, servicing, and add-on sales for companies with less than 51 enrolled (small group) market segment. Facilitates and negotiates renewal process and advises broker partners on company products, industry trends, and plan functions. Establishes and maintains strong agency, broker, and center of influence relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. In lieu of degree, may consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of experience in health insurance account management or sales and marketing or equivalent experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Accident, Health, and Life License with Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) (required to obtain within 4 months of hire).
  • Knowledge of health insurance products and services, sales and industry processes including underwriting, stop loss, benefit plan design, health care funding arrangements, and related state and federal regulations including HIPPA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint and proficiency with Customers Relationship Management systems.
  • Knowledge of fundamental sales and customer service principles and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes strategies and solutions to renew current clients while cross selling the MMO Family of Companies.
  • Implements renewal strategies for accounts in assigned territory while achieving a targeted retention rate.
  • Provides account management service while utilizing and education on Medical Mutual Small Group Service Model, performs service issues as required.
  • Updates and maintains Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database included but not limited to renewal disposition, competitive data, account management service-related documentation, agency/broker appointments and entertainment opportunities.
  • Documents activities to be measured for annual performance review.
  • Maintains renewal pipeline and audit report on a monthly basis.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with brokers/agencies and their clients through quarterly RAB Meetings, entertainment opportunities and center of influence events.
  • Stays current with ODI licensure, Company products, policies, and practices, as well as industry legislation and innovations.
  • Works with Sales Consultant collaboratively to identify and establish agency/broker related sales and retention strategies.
  • Assists in group meetings as needed (renewal or service-related reviews).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
