About The Position

The Account Executive - Portfolio role is within Cisco's Global Enterprise Segment (GES), which manages the company's top 500 strategic accounts. This role is responsible for managing a growth target for an assigned territory using a channel go-to-market distribution model. The primary focus is on identifying and pursuing market opportunities by segment, aggressively pursuing opportunities, and increasing sales penetration within a target account list. The role requires a 'hunter' mentality combined with strategic sales savvy and the ability to build strong customer relationships. It operates in a matrixed environment, emphasizing a customer-first approach to achieve win-win outcomes. The Account Executive will play a key role in growing company revenue by identifying new sales opportunities and expanding relationships with existing clients, improving customer satisfaction, fostering long-term partnerships, and enhancing Cisco's market visibility and reputation through strategic account planning and execution. This position also serves as a crucial link between customers and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration, and contributes to sales strategy development by providing insights from customer interactions and market trends.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technology sales experience.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience leading a large account, including forecasting, quota attainment, sales presentation skills, and short/mid/long term opportunity management.
  • Expertise in working with complex strategic accounts including interaction with decision makers and all other executives within the account.
  • Demonstrate negotiation skills with peers, partners, and customers using a win/win philosophy.
  • Be able to position end-to-end solutions and articulate Cisco strategies to senior customer executives.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive knowledge and experience leading a large account, including forecasting, quota attainment, sales presentation skills, and short/mid/long term opportunity management is needed.
  • Expertise in the market and strong technical knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to deliver business value to the account and build on customer relationships.
