About The Position

Artemis Insurance is seeking an experienced, licensed Personal Lines Account Executive to join our West Texas team. This is a unique hybrid sales and account management opportunity for someone who enjoys developing new business but also values building long-term relationships with clients. Unlike a traditional commission-only sales role, this position offers a competitive base salary of $65,000–$70,000 plus 5% of agency fees collected. The Account Executive will have opportunities to grow the book through new business and cross-selling while also managing renewals, retention, coverage reviews, and ongoing client relationships. The position may be performed remotely or on-site in Amarillo, Texas. The Account Executive will also work closely with our Personal Lines service team, which provides administrative and service support.

Requirements

  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license required.
  • Texas Property & Casualty license required or must be obtained before servicing Texas clients.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Personal Lines insurance experience preferred.
  • Experience performing both Personal Lines sales and account management/service responsibilities strongly preferred.
  • Experience with new business quoting, coverage analysis, and policy placement.
  • Experience managing renewals and client retention.
  • Experience working with multiple Personal Lines carriers and rating platforms.
  • Comfort working with agency management systems, carrier platforms, and comparative rating systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, renewals, service requests, and sales opportunities.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and remain accountable in a remote environment.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HawkSoft, Applied Epic, AMS360, or a comparable agency management system preferred.
  • Previous experience working successfully in a remote environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to assigned inbound leads and new business opportunities.
  • Conduct outbound sales and relationship-development activities to generate additional business.
  • Assess client needs, exposures, and potential coverage gaps.
  • Prepare competitive quotes and present insurance solutions and recommendations.
  • Guide prospective clients from initial contact through quoting, closing, binding, and onboarding.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional Personal Lines products and round out client accounts.
  • Build relationships that generate referrals and additional opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up on open sales opportunities.
  • Manage the renewal process for assigned Personal Lines clients.
  • Conduct proactive renewal outreach and coverage reviews.
  • Review upcoming renewals for premium changes, coverage needs, carrier changes, and potential retention concerns.
  • Reshop accounts when appropriate based on client needs, pricing, underwriting considerations, or retention risk.
  • Present renewal options and recommendations using a consultative approach.
  • Identify opportunities to improve coverage and expand client relationships during the renewal process.
  • Proactively address accounts that may be at risk of leaving the agency.
  • Work toward established retention goals while ensuring recommendations remain appropriate for each client's needs.
  • Serve as a primary licensed point of contact for assigned Personal Lines clients.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through responsive and knowledgeable service.
  • Assist clients with coverage questions, policy changes, billing concerns, renewals, claims questions, and other insurance needs.
  • Conduct annual and life-event coverage reviews.
  • Educate clients regarding coverage options and risk considerations.
  • Process or coordinate endorsements, renewals, cancellations, applications, and other policy transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and complete client and policy documentation.
  • Resolve client concerns and escalate complex matters when appropriate.
  • Partner with Personal Lines service team members to provide efficient and consistent client support.
  • Utilize available service resources for administrative and transactional activities while maintaining ownership of assigned client relationships.
  • Provide clear and complete information when service activities are delegated.
  • Assist service team members with matters requiring licensed insurance knowledge.
  • Maintain responsibility for ensuring client needs, renewals, and sales opportunities are effectively managed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Personal Lines carrier products, appetite, underwriting requirements, and eligibility guidelines.
  • Work with carrier representatives and underwriters to identify appropriate placement solutions.
  • Follow Company procedures, carrier requirements, and applicable insurance regulations.
  • Ensure coverage discussions, recommendations, client decisions, and declined coverage are appropriately documented.
  • Maintain accurate applications, policy information, and client records.
  • Identify potential coverage, documentation, underwriting, or E&O concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain quality and accuracy while balancing sales, renewal, and service responsibilities.
