Account Executive, New Business

Harper•Atlanta, GA
•$150,000 - $200,000•Onsite

About The Position

This role focuses on closing small-business insurance policies at volume. The Account Executive will take qualified leads, understand their needs, and guide them through the decision-making process to a closed policy. This is a phone-closing role where success is measured by policies closed, revenue booked, conversion quality, and sales accuracy. The position involves handling straightforward sales as well as more complex "recovery" opportunities where initial classifications or quotes did not work, requiring the ability to diagnose issues, rebuild solutions, and clearly explain recommendations to clients. The role utilizes AI tools for account context and preparation, but the core function is direct customer interaction and closing.

Requirements

  • Closed in a high-volume phone-sales environment.
  • Comfortable being measured on conversion and revenue, not soft activity.
  • Ability to build trust quickly with small-business owners.
  • Ability to listen for the real objection and respond directly.
  • Ability to read a difficult account history, identify what failed, and explain a corrected path without blaming the customer.
  • Ability to use coaching, call review, and data to improve personal conversion.
  • Ability to earn a commercial insurance producer license quickly if not already held.
  • Based in Atlanta or San Francisco, or ready to relocate to one of those offices.
  • Must be willing to work in-office 5 days a week.

  • Explain the commercial choice, making price, coverage, carrier, and tradeoffs understandable.
  • Handle objections and follow-up, staying with a live opportunity until it closes, clearly dies, or requires a different Harper owner.
  • Recover harder opportunities by reading history, diagnosing failures, and coordinating corrected quotes, markets, packages, or recommendations.
  • Remarket thoughtfully with placement and insurance experts to choose credible next markets.
  • Work the prepared queue, verifying account facts, using prioritized follow-up lists, correcting drafts, and recording outcomes.
