About The Position

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Account Executive to join their team. This role involves taking ownership of a dedicated, established global account with an existing footprint, relationships, and service agreements. The Fire Account Executive will be part of a dynamic sales team and will have the opportunity to grow with the company. Requirements

  • Proven history of success selling Fire Alarm & Life Safety solutions with established, major 'specification grade manufacturers'.
  • Proven track record of account retention and expansion within an existing book of business, in addition to new-opportunity development.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72 (Fire Alarm Code), NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code), and applicable IBC provisions, sufficient to speak credibly with AHJs, engineers, and facility/EHS stakeholders and to spot code-driven scope in a proposal.
  • Familiarity with electrical means and methods of construction as they relate to fire alarm and life safety system installation, sufficient to collaborate effectively with designers, estimators, and electrical trades.
  • Comfort managing relationships across multiple sites, regions, or business units within a single global customer.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
  • Comfortable with navigating and attending regular onsite walk-throughs within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong affinity for problem solving.
  • Desire to learn, understand, and apply solutions to customer challenges.
  • Ability to build customer confidence and cultivate business relationships at multiple levels, including senior leadership.
  • Proactively source sales & service opportunities.
  • Ability to adapt to business changes with the ability to influence others.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office, Teams, Spreadsheets as well as hosted project collaboration applications. Bluebeam preferred.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of fire solutions sales, including demonstrated experience managing a dedicated or strategic account.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET II certification, with demonstrated ability/track record to advance toward NICET III

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of a dedicated, high-value global manufacturing account.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact across the account's multiple sites, business units, and/or regions, coordinating consistent service delivery and a unified account strategy globally.
  • Build and sustain relationships with outside risk insurers, facilities, EHS, operations leadership up to the director/VP level to secure the account's long-term commitment to Convergint.
  • Develop day-to-day relationships with ECs/GCs/AEs that are both integrated onsite as well as key players in the construction bid process.
  • Understand and manage existing service agreements, contract terms, SLAs, and renewal timelines; proactively get ahead of renewals rather than reacting to them.
  • Lead and participate in regular strategic account reviews with the customer to report on performance, surface new needs, align on a forward-looking account growth plan, and educate the customer on the latest developments in fire alarm, mass notification, and life safety technologies.
  • Responsible for selling the continuum of fire alarm integration services, maintenance programs, managed services, and transformational services.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within the account's existing footprint by working with real decision makers to assess need, build a business case, and establish a decision timeframe.
  • Build and maintain a 4:1 pipeline over target revenue goal.
  • Lead the sales pursuit team to construct winning proposals, including the quote, business case, and justification of unique qualifications.
  • Present proposals to decision makers, managing objections related to timing, price, and competition, leading to timely go or no-go decisions.
  • Collaborate with designers/estimators, sales engineers, subject matter experts, program/project managers, and partners as needed to create and deliver winning proposals.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
