About The Position

Brilliant Agency is seeking a full-time Account Executive, Earned Media to support its growing marketing team. This role focuses on executing public relations strategies, managing media relations, creative ideation, and project management for family-oriented brands. The ideal candidate will have agency experience in consumer products PR or integrated marketing, strong project management skills, and a curiosity for new technology and AI. This is a remote position, but requires the candidate to live in the NYC/New Jersey Tri State Area and travel into NYC regularly for in-person media engagements.

Requirements

  • Based in the NYC/New Jersey Tri State Area, and able to travel into NYC regularly for in-person media meetings and events.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of PR agency experience in the consumer goods industry.
  • Demonstrated project management experience managing timelines, deliverables, and multiple accounts at once.
  • Comfortable using AI tools day to day, with examples of how you've used them.
  • A real willingness to try new technologies and adopt new tools quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude with a passion for staying ahead of trends.

Responsibilities

  • Curate and oversee comprehensive databases for media contacts
  • Discover fresh editorial leads and freelance talent utilizing Substacks and platforms like Qwoted
  • Compose and distribute compelling pitches, alerts, and releases while monitoring for earned placements
  • Generate innovative story angles designed to capture interest from major national publications
  • Take the lead on specialized affiliate and commerce-focused outreach efforts
  • Organize and attend press interviews and desksides in person, and craft detailed briefing materials for brand spokespeople
  • Cultivate meaningful professional ties with influential journalists and content creators, including regular in-person meetings around NYC
  • Stay updated on industry shifts and track competitor visibility daily
  • Oversee client recognition programs through meticulous research, strategic advice, and deadline management
  • Assume responsibility for campaign timelines, ensuring all account milestones are achieved successfully
  • Develop project roadmaps, establishing key goals while identifying potential bottlenecks early on
  • Monitor budgets and team duties, providing consistent updates to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Leverage organizational tools such as Monday or Asana to maintain workflow transparency
  • Facilitate collaboration across various teams to guarantee seamless execution of all deliverables
  • Integrate AI technologies like Claude or ChatGPT to enhance drafting, reporting, and research
  • Evaluate and implement emerging software solutions, educating the broader team on best practices
  • Identify technical opportunities to automate routine chores and elevate the standard of output
  • Support the conceptualization and launch of virtual or in-person press events
