The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder with a proven track record in business development and a solid understanding of professional liability and errors & omissions exposures. This role works closely with account managers, technical specialists, and carrier partners to support new business growth and client retention across the professional services sector.

  • RIBO license or ability to obtain quickly.
  • Proven success building a profitable book of business within Toronto's professional services sector.
  • Strong understanding of professional liability (E&O), D&O, EPL, cyber, and crime coverage as applied to law firms, accounting firms, consultancies, and other regulated professionals.
  • Established market presence and referral network among firm administrators, managing partners, and professional association contacts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach and commitment to collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • CIP, CAIB, or CRM designation.
  • Existing familiarity with Ontario professional regulatory frameworks (Law Society of Ontario, CPA Ontario, PEO) and their practical impact on insurance program design.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop, and close new professional services accounts, including law firms, accounting and advisory firms, management consultants, engineers, architects, IT service providers, and other licensed professionals.
  • Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline to achieve revenue and growth targets within the professional services vertical.
  • Identify opportunities to deliver multi-line insurance solutions, including professional liability (E&O), management liability (D&O, EPL, fiduciary), cyber liability, general liability, commercial property, and crime/fidelity coverage.
  • Develop referral sources and maintain a strong professional network across Toronto's professional services community — firm administrators, managing partners, professional associations, and legal counsel.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximize cross-selling opportunities across the professional services portfolio.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to professional services clients, providing strategic guidance on liability exposure, risk management frameworks, and insurance program design.
  • Lead renewal planning, coverage reviews, and portfolio strategy discussions alongside service teams, accounting for headcount changes, service line expansions, and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed on professional liability market conditions, claims trends, cyber threat developments, and regulatory changes affecting Ontario-based professionals and their governing bodies.
  • Support long-term client retention through proactive engagement and responsive service.
  • Maintain productive relationships with carriers and underwriters specializing in professional liability and management liability risks.

  • Generous time-off policies.
  • Company-matched RRSPs.
  • Sponsored training and development programs.
  • Tuition reimbursement opportunities.
  • Reimbursements for professional license fees and membership dues.
