About The Position

ONE is Horizon Media’s full-service creative agency, named Best Small Agency of the Year (MUSE) three times in a row. The agency’s mission is to elevate brands from short-lived fame to long-lasting impact by going to culture first to find one meaning. ONE’s full-service offering spans Brand Identity & Strategy, Comms Planning, Creative Concept through Development, and Account Leadership. Additional specialized areas of expertise include Multicultural and Audio/Podcasts. The agency has a growing roster of iconic brands from Materne North America, United Health Care, Mionetto / Freixenet, and Fisher Investments, among others. The agency is headquartered in New York. The Account Director is responsible for overseeing the health and growth of key client relationships while ensuring high-quality work is delivered across all initiatives. They play a key role in achieving client brand objectives, supporting strategy development, and managing cross-functional teams to drive success. The Account Director brings strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills and reports to the Group Account Director or SVP of Client Services (TBD).

Responsibilities

  • Foster strong, trusting relationships with day-to-day and senior-level clients by deeply understanding their business needs
  • Maintain consistent client satisfaction and contribute to organic account growth
  • Help define client expectations and align deliverables with business objectives
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects while managing changing priorities and deadlines
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to deliver integrated solutions
  • Support the identification of opportunities for organic growth and prepare proposals for incremental work
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure a smooth workflow
  • Escalate issues to leadership when appropriate, offering potential solutions
  • Oversee the daily management and execution of client work, ensuring quality and strategic alignment
  • Translate client goals into actionable plans and guide teams in delivering those plans
  • Monitor project timelines, scopes, and budgets, keeping work on track and within scope
  • Partner with strategic leads to shape client presentations and deliverables
  • Work closely with internal teams to troubleshoot challenges and drive forward momentum
  • Contribute to annual planning and forecasting efforts for client accounts
  • Supervise junior team members (e.g., Account Managers, Account Executives) and help guide their development
  • Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to support team growth
  • Encourage a collaborative, inclusive, and productive team environment
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively while ensuring overall quality and accuracy
  • Partner with cross-functional leads across strategy, creative, media, and analytics
  • Stay informed on industry trends, client categories, and marketing innovations
  • Participate in agency learning opportunities and share learnings with peers and team
  • Contribute to agency culture and bring a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to the table
