About The Position

GMR Marketing is an Experience Agency that creates unforgettable stories by focusing on human connection and immersive experiences across physical, digital, and social worlds. Our team consists of sports and media partnership architects who develop impactful strategies for clients and support agency growth through proactive engagement with prospective clients. We manage the entire partnership lifecycle, including portfolio strategy, brand positioning, partner selection, negotiation, activation, and measurement. As an Account Director, you will lead sports and media partnership consulting and account management for a diverse brand portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President, you will serve as a strategic advisor and hands-on leader, translating client objectives into effective partnership strategies, shaping long-term roadmaps, and delivering clear recommendations to senior stakeholders. You will be the day-to-day lead on accounts, driving strategy and execution for sports partnerships, guiding cross-functional teams, managing client and partner relationships, and delivering performance insights. You will also contribute to business development by supporting research and crafting strategic responses to new opportunities.

Requirements

  • Expertise in sports marketing and partnerships, with a strong understanding of the sports and media landscape and how brands engage across channels (TV, digital, social, and more).
  • Well versed in working with major professional sports leagues.
  • Strategic, growth-oriented leader with the ability to navigate ambiguity, build frameworks from the ground up, and translate business objectives into actionable plans.
  • Combine a data-driven approach with strong client and team leadership.
  • Effectively manage multiple clients, projects, timelines, and budgets while leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong relationship management, accountability, and initiative to drive seamless execution and deliver measurable impact.
  • Ability to uncover compelling story behind every brand and business objective.
  • Ability to dive deep to unlock client needs, craft game-changing strategies, and bring complex ideas to life through clear, persuasive narratives that inspire stakeholder buy-in and drive collaboration.
