About The Position

The University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) has been a leader in co-operative education and work-integrated learning (WIL) for 50 years. The Department of Arts and Science Co-op is responsible for preparing over 4,000 undergraduate students from 58 academic areas to compete for paid co-op work term opportunities and for engaging industry partners who provide these work terms. The department works closely with academic departments, support services, and employer and community partners to support students in achieving their academic and co-op/integrated learning aspirations. This role reports to the Team Lead, External Relations and Industry Partnerships, and supports the team in identifying and developing strong partnerships with potential employers to ensure high-quality paid co-op work term opportunities for Arts and Science Co-op students at UTSC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the areas of outreach, sales, business development and external relations.
  • Experience with process coordination.
  • Experience in market research and analysis, identification of target markets as well relationship development.
  • Demonstrated experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with a strong emphasis on influencing skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and comfortable conducting cold calls.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
  • Evaluating job prospects in alignment with student academic goals
  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
  • Promoting programming, student needs and interests to employers and industry contacts
  • Identifying, fostering and maintaining relationships with potential and existing employers
  • Tracking the status of business development initiatives, activities and outcomes
  • Updating and maintaining database records
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of promotional/outreach materials
