This is advanced, lead accounting and coordination work. An employee in this classification is responsible for maintenance of all accounting records for a function or organization, for the accurate, effective, and efficient operation of an established accounting system requiring procedural and allocation decisions, to audit and approve the accuracy of records kept in the field, to make improvements in the fiscal system or changes in the system to accomplish special objectives, and to prepare complex accounting reports. This employee works under the direction of an administrator with considerable opportunity for exercising independent judgment in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the job.
