About The Position

The Account Applications Engineer serves as the primary technical point of contact within the organization, providing support to both customers and internal teams. Key responsibilities include offering technical assistance, ensuring Value-Added/Value-Engineered (VAVE) commitments are fulfilled, participating in the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) review process, conducting line walks and teardowns, attending on-site customer visits, promoting standardization, delivering customer fastener training, and aiding in the resolution of quality concerns.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, etc.) or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relay information to the customer and coordinate with business partners.
  • Time management skills and personal responsibility to ensure productivity in a self-directed working environment.
  • Critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Sales and customer service (internal/external) focus.
  • Understands big picture company goals and how they are supported by individual success.
  • Good judgement, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must occasionally lift, carry, or move up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fastener related products/applications is a considerable plus.
  • AutoCAD, Pro-Engineer, or other CAD software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify application issues and cost reduction opportunities to meet customer Value-Added/Value-Engineered cost savings initiatives.
  • Consult on the proper application of products and solutions, assist in new business development, support sales, and provide product demonstrations.
  • Serve as the key technical advisor and resource for various internal departments.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot fastener and assembly related applications.
  • Assist the Quality department in analyzing failure modes of fasteners and related components.
  • Facilitate training seminars for intercompany and customer knowledge sharing events.
  • Identify and solve cost reduction opportunities leading to lower overall costs for customers.
  • Support the sales process through regular customer visits and new customer presentations.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the sales team and foster teamwork throughout the organization.
  • Provide technical support to all internal departments.
  • Continuously improve the productivity and efficiency of processes within the operational organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
