About The Position

This position is with Bonneville Power Administration’s Technology Innovation organization in the Information Chief of Staff Office. The Account Analyst supports and coordinates engagements with external entities involved in research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) activities across BPA. The role supports partnerships with U.S. National Laboratories, leading research universities, and energy technology innovators, helping structure agreements that bring research and technologies to BPA’s power grid. The analyst evaluates emerging energy innovations from business and technical perspectives, including cost-benefit and risk assessments, and contributes to technology transfer efforts that scale research solutions and assess their realized value, operating-cost reductions, and reliability improvements. Working alongside the Director of Technology Innovation and the Information Chief of Staff, the analyst synthesizes data, evaluates program effectiveness, and prepares executive briefings to inform funding and roadmap decisions. The position drives project management practices for multi-year RD&D initiatives, including project planning, budget and deliverable tracking, risk mitigation, and quality standards. It also develops measurement tools, performance indicators, and evaluative models for assessing return on investment and the effectiveness of BPA’s innovation portfolio. The analyst liaises with DOE interagency forums, regional utility consortiums, and national technical conferences, and monitors external partner and contractor performance to support timely, on-budget delivery and compliance with safety, environmental, and quality controls. The employee is required to report in person to the official duty location.
