Hiring staff “for fit” makes significant contributions to Howard University’s overall mission. The Accommodations & Testing Coordinator (ATC) is responsible for the daily operations and services of the Testing Center and serves as the primary point of contact for students with accommodations. Also, the ATC manages accommodations requests and is responsible for coordinating services for students with disabilities under the Rehabilitative Act Section 504. The ATC collaborates with Howard University faculty, staff, and external partners to meet the needs of various constituents by providing testing and disability support services that comply with Howard University policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. The ATC’s position will interact with many internal and external stakeholders, including, but not limited to, parents, students, internal university leadership, and external stakeholders. External stakeholders may include but are not limited to the United States Department of Education, The Office of the State Superintendent of Washington DC. The ATC processes a wide variety of accommodation requests and other auxiliary support services for students with disabilities, including assistive technology and requests for alternate format text. The ATC will address the accommodations requirements of students enrolled in post-graduate and professional school programs with adherence to technical standards. The ATC will support and help maintain a standard office environment with a flexible work schedule to accommodate special programs and events.
