Accessory Product Design Engineer

Apple•Cupertino, CA

About The Position

Apple’s Accessories Product Design team works across a variety of product categories, guiding projects from early architecture explorations through mass production. The Product Design Engineer will conceive, design, and help bring products to life, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements, resolve technical challenges, refine designs, and achieve project goals. The role calls for strong mechanical design fundamentals, close collaboration, excellent communication, and the ability to deliver design solutions while balancing multiple priorities on demanding schedules. Responsibilities include designing parts and assemblies using CAD, building prototypes, validating performance, and pursuing continual design improvements. As designs mature, the engineer will partner with vendors, contract manufacturers, internal teams, and cross-functional engineering disciplines to optimize designs for function, manufacturability, and cosmetics at scale. The role also includes reviewing test results, conducting failure analysis, driving corrective actions, supporting module and system-level builds, and traveling internationally up to 20%.
