About The Position

The Accessories Consultant is responsible for providing support to the Parts Manager and parts staff. Responsibilities include providing customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the accessory department through receiving, stocking, selling, promoting, distributing equipment and parts to customers and to other departments.

Requirements

  • Professional and knowledgeable customer service skills.
  • Experience with stocking, issuing, receiving, and inventory control, including cycle counts.
  • Ability to assist customers with selecting appropriate safety gear, water toys, life jackets, etc.
  • Experience in tracking and marketing to new/used boat delivery sales customers.
  • Proficiency in sorting and placing materials and accessories/parts on racks, shelves, or in bins.
  • Experience using company software for inventory data entry.
  • Ability to place price tags on merchandise.
  • Experience completing order forms and placing orders with vendors and manufacturers.
  • Ability to read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions.
  • Skill in maintaining good working relationships with factories and vendors regarding product and quality control.
  • Experience placing special order parts.
  • Ability to inform technicians and customers about the arrival of special order parts.
  • Accuracy in checking invoices against work orders.
  • Skill in keeping parts catalogs up to date.

Responsibilities

  • Serve the internal or external customer in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Perform stocking, issuing, receiving and inventory control functions including cycle counts.
  • Assist customers by outfitting them correct safety gear, water toys, life jackets, etc.
  • Track new/used boat delivery sales, selling and marketing to each sold boat customer.
  • Sort and place materials and accessories/parts on racks, shelves, or in bins.
  • Enter accessories/parts inventory information through use of company software.
  • Place price tags as appropriate on merchandise.
  • Complete order form and place orders with vendors and manufacturers as directed by Parts Manager and Operations Manager.
  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved or distributed.
  • Maintain good working relationships with factory and vendors as they relate to product and quality control.
  • Place orders for special order parts as required.
  • Inform technicians and customers of arrival of special order parts.
  • Carefully check invoices against work orders.
  • Keep parts catalogs up to date.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
