About The Position

Jefferson Community and Technical College seeks a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as an AccessAbility Resource and Testing Center (ARTC) Specialist. This role provides administrative and student support services, coordinates testing in both centers, and assists the Director and Assistant Director of the AccessAbility Resource and Testing Center. This role also assists students with a variety of academic, professional, and personal support services to overcome academic and non-academic barriers and enhance their skills to increase retention and graduation rates. The position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and commitment to student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in computer and technology applications, including Microsoft Office (e.g., Word and Excel), and experience adapting to new systems and tools.
  • Ability to travel between work sites, including availability for evening and weekend hours as required to support ARTC exam proctoring.

Responsibilities

  • Services students at the Testing Center and the AccessAbility Resource Center (ARC), which includes triaging student requests, answering phones, monitoring email accounts, and responding to inquiries from the public
  • Works in collaboration with the AccessAbility Resource and Testing Center Director and Assistant Director with data collection, reporting, and compliance-related documentation concerning students
  • Communicates effectively with the AccessAbility Resource and Testing Center Director and Assistant Director, as well as the Assistant Vice President for Student Support and Advocacy, and other staff to ensure efficient departmental operations
  • Assists with financial operations including departmental budget tracking; creating purchase orders; completing electronic business forms
  • Provides information and assistance to current and prospective students regarding ARC eligibility, requirements, and available services
  • Maintains the Kurzweil 3000 software for students with disabilities
  • Assists with exam proctoring in the AccessAbility Resource Center and Testing Center
  • Maintains accurate student recordkeeping systems
  • Participates in departmental meetings, institutional committees, work groups, and professional development opportunities
  • Communicates directly with testers and students regarding AccessAbility Resource Center and Testing Center policies, rules, and procedures
  • Provides continuous surveillance monitoring of testing labs with physical presence to ensure the integrity of exams within a safe, secure testing atmosphere and troubleshoots computer, software, and network problems during exams as needed
  • Supports Testing Center operations, including but not limited to proctoring Accuplacer, KYOTE, IC3, NOCTI, HESI, and CAMLA exams
  • Responsible for maintaining operations of the AccessAbility Resource Center and Testing Center including opening & closing procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
