About The Position

The Academic Experience and Environment subfunction of the Office of Access & Opportunity, is dedicated to fostering engagement, advancement, and meaningful experiences for every learner, educator, and teammate, driving educational excellence, innovative research, and transformative healthcare. The Program Manager will support the development, implementation, and optimization of processes, policies, practices, and structures that promote a dynamic and accessible learning environment that fosters inclusion and belonging FOR ALL. Through close collaboration with the Operations Director for Academic Experience & Environment and other leaders, the Program Manager will integrate best practices into the design, delivery, and evaluation of educational initiatives, academic programming, and operational strategies to ensure measurable outcomes. This role offers a unique opportunity to advance enterprise-wide and cross-unit initiatives related to teammate engagement, organizational culture, community partnership, health access, and patient experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required in Leadership Development, Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or Related Field
  • Seven years of program or project management experience is required, including experience within an academic setting.
  • Commitment to advancing Access & Opportunity and fostering a positive, supportive, and safe environment for all learners, teammates, patients, and community members.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including analytical, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Proven independent problem-solving skills; self-motivated and accountable with the ability to set goals, manage competing and time-sensitive priorities, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with partners across units, and management skills to facilitate work within and across teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with document, database, and presentation tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Redcap).
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams representing a broad range of backgrounds, roles, and perspectives, both in-person and within a remote environment; demonstrates adaptability and the capacity to navigate priorities in an evolving and ambiguous landscape

  • Background in academic learning health systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive program management from concept to implementation for division-wide impact, ensuring progress and deliverables to leaders. Responsibilities include identifying key milestones and metrics; risk mitigation, planning, overseeing, monitoring, and evaluating programs; developing and maintaining timelines; and contributing to strategic planning.
  • Oversee day-to-day technical operations, including scheduling, meeting facilitation, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to address technical and operational barriers and prevent delays.
  • Proactively identify potential challenges and recommend improvements as priorities and needs evolve.
  • Maintain close collaboration with program managers and strategists across Access & Opportunity to ensure cohesion and alignment among Centers of Excellence, divisions, and sub-functions, promote synergy, and foster a collaborative culture.
  • Cultivate cross-unit partnerships (e.g., Faculty Affairs, Educational Programs, Graduate Medical Education) to initiate and implement educational initiatives, academic programming, and operational strategies that drive the Academic Experience and Environment portfolio and roadmap and maintain focused alignment with the Dean and Chief Academic Officer.
  • Design and maintain program materials such as forms, manuals, newsletters, presentations, and web resources.
  • Prepare and deliver periodic analyses and reports on program progress and trends and collaborate with the Operations Director on content and curriculum curation and design.
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of key events and celebrations, including developing event concepts, managing logistics and timelines, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and vendors, and participant feedback.
