Access Control Technician
About The Position
This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security cameras, card access readers, and door access control systems. Responsibilities include mounting and installing cameras, card readers, door hardware, and associated low-voltage devices in commercial environments. Technicians will perform ladder and lift work, run and terminate cabling, mount equipment, and ensure systems are installed according to project specifications. The position requires proficiency with hand tools, power drills, and the ability to work comfortably at elevated heights. The client is seeking two technicians and is open to both experienced security installation professionals and mechanically inclined entry-level candidates who are eager to learn. Most work is located within Milwaukee County, with occasional travel to surrounding areas.
Requirements
- Proficiency with hand tools and power drills.
- Ability to work comfortably at elevated heights.
- Experience installing and servicing commercial security camera systems.
- Experience installing and configuring card access control systems and badge readers.
- Experience with low-voltage cabling, including Cat5 and Cat6 terminations.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Comfortable working outdoors and at elevated heights using ladders and lifts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Trainable, dependable, and eager to learn new technologies and installation techniques.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with scissor lifts, boom lifts, or similar equipment is a plus.
