About The Position
The Access Control Technician works with other installers and independently to complete installations and service calls. The role is responsible for timely completion of assigned daily procedures and paperwork, as well as care and maintenance of an assigned vehicle. The technician installs and troubleshoots access control and CCTV systems, performs basic networking and data system setup, and handles basic programming and security-system tasks. Duties may extend beyond normal responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, task-driven, and able to apply best-practices theory.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Highly detailed, organized, and able to multitask.
- Competent desktop and mobile computing skills.
- Clean driving record and background check, required for DCJS certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of field experience.
Responsibilities
- Install access control systems.
- Install CCTV systems.
- Troubleshoot access control systems at an advanced level.
- Install and set up basic networking and data systems.
- Perform basic programming of single-room systems and advanced systems.
- Understand multi-room systems and their setup at a basic level.
- Understand security system programming and design at a basic level.
- Maintain a basic understanding of Brivo systems.
- Complete assigned daily procedures and paperwork on time.
- Care for and maintain the assigned vehicle.
- Work independently and with other installers to complete installations and service calls.
