About The Position

Perimeter Solutions Group is seeking skilled Access Control Technicians to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, installing, and maintaining electronic fences, gate operating systems, access control barriers, and related technologies. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills. Perimeter Solutions Group is the premier provider of fence, gates, automation/access controls, and rental barriers in the US with locations in Tampa, Lake Helen FL, McDonough GA, Savannah GA, Phoenix AZ and Glendale AZ. PSG is a rapidly growing and expanding platform, performing a over 1,000 installations annually including commercial, educational, military, governmental, and alternate energy properties throughout the southern U.S.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in access control systems, electronic security systems, or a related field
  • Proficiency in programming and configuring access control systems, electronic fences, and gate operating systems
  • Knowledge of networking and system integration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, work in various environments, and perform tasks that may require climbing ladders or working in confined spaces

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Access Control Technician (CACT) or similar

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, and configure electronic fences, gate operating systems, and access control barriers
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of access control systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Integrate access control systems with other security and building management systems
  • Provide technical support and training to clients and end-users on the operation and maintenance of access control systems
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs. Prepare detailed reports on system performance and issues
  • Ensure all installations and operations comply with relevant safety and security standards and regulations
  • Respond to customer inquiries and service requests in a timely and professional manner
