About The Position

Under general supervision, an Access Control technician is responsible for performing skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and testing of the ASU access control system, closed circuit television (CCTV) and security systems hardware and software. The technician will service devices such as; locking hardware, conduit, power supplies, cable pathway systems, firestop systems, various electronic components, and various cable that includes but is not limited to: twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded cable and solid conductor low voltage cable.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license upon employment and maintain throughout employment.

Employee must possess a valid US Driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

Evidence of an Associate’s degree or technical degree and one year of technical installation and maintenance of security systems and equipment experience, OR a two-year technical certificate and one year of security system installation and maintenance experience OR 3 years of field tech experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain and service the Lenel access control system plus assist in maintenance of GENETEC CCTV system.
Must have basic knowledge of commercial grade door hardware such as: Von Duprin, Schlage, ASSA Abloy and Best Precision.
Needs to be able to troubleshoot networks and low voltage power supplies and assist in performing preventative maintenance and repair for cameras and supporting equipment.
