About The Position

Dispatch and Access Control Security Officers are responsible for access control of the client's facility and the safety, security, and well-being of the client's employees, property, visitors, vendors, and anyone conducting business at the facility. This role involves issuing and rescinding access badges, maintaining databases, reporting operations, providing customer service, and potentially stepping into a Dispatcher role. The position requires excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure. Requirements

  • Prior dispatch experience is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must pass a lifetime background check and drug test.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be professional.
  • Must meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to be an effective team member.

  • Required lifting and/or moving related to emergency assistance and/or emergency equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Controls access to the client site or facility through the admittance process.
  • Issues and rescinds client site access badges.
  • Maintains accurate records, including the access control database.
  • Reports to shift supervisors with daily reports of routine operations and issues.
  • Provides customer service to the client, vendors, and all site visitors.
  • Monitors entrances and exits; acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry.
  • Operates remote access devices and monitors remote entrances using closed-circuit television.
  • Inspects for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
  • Prepares logs and reports as required for the site; writes or types reports and enters information into a computer.
  • Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensures that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements.
  • Communicates with supervisors and the client through written reports, telephone, and radio communications.
  • Acts as a backup Dispatcher, capable of fielding emergency calls, dispatching resources, multitasking, and prioritizing competing requirements.
  • Stands and walks as necessary for the duration of the shift.
  • Performs any other client/company-specified duties.
