About The Position

As the Access Center Coordinator, you will serve under the direction of the Manager of Access and Engagement. In this 100% telephone and system-based role, you will act as the digital and telephonic "face" of Southern New Hampshire Health (SNHH). You will manage incoming phone calls and online care requests from patients and referring providers across multiple practices, specialties, and departments. Your primary goal is to ensure all customers receive timely, efficient, and high-quality service while initiating patient registration and scheduling processes. This position involves no face-to-face interaction and can be performed off-site as approved by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of experience in a medical office, healthcare administrative support role, or contact center environment.
  • Prior direct customer service experience is required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Basic computer proficiency—specifically with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong data entry capabilities.
  • General knowledge of the referral triage process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute new patient registrations and appointment scheduling, accurately inputting all demographic, medical, financial, and referral details into EPIC.
  • Answer incoming lines, triage calls, deliver professional customer service, transcribe detailed messages, and translate patient or provider requests into immediate, appropriate actions.
  • Complete administrative prior authorizations, identify potential payer issues, and collaborate with clinical nurses to resolve authorization barriers or formalize payer appeals.
  • Provide basic practice and hospital instructions, arrange interpreter services, obtain required clinical records prior to visits, and act as a key contact for insurance and care access questions.
  • Maintain strict data confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA guidelines and assist with operational office needs, including training new employees.
