This role performs Scheduling or Registration functions in a timely and accurate manner, working with TH ancillary departments to coordinate care and communicate with patients and physicians/offices to obtain information necessary to schedule and/or register patients. The Access Associate provides excellent customer service and answers patient questions and resolves issues, and collects copays, standard deposits, and deductibles. For scheduling, the role involves scheduling physician ordered tests in accordance with department guidelines and correlating medical diagnosis with ordered tests/procedures for medical necessity purposes required to receive reimbursement. For registration, the role educates patients on TH required legal compliance paperwork and provides financial triage, directing patients with financial questions and explaining concepts of insurance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Degree or GED
  • 1 - 2 years experience Customer Service
  • Ability to operate multiple computer applications
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Typing speed of 35 wpm
  • Medical terminology required within first year of employment if not already taken

Responsibilities

  • Perform Scheduling or Registration functions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Work with TH ancillary departments to coordinate care and communicate with patients and physicians/offices to obtain information necessary to schedule and/or register patients
  • Provide excellent customer service and answer patient questions and resolve issues
  • Collect copays, standard deposits, and deductibles
  • Schedule physician ordered tests in accordance with department guidelines
  • Correlate medical diagnosis with ordered tests/procedures for medical necessity purposes that is required to receive reimbursement
  • Educate patients on TH required legal compliance paperwork
  • Provide financial triage (can properly direct patient with financial questions and explain concepts of insurance)
  • Follow regulatory and departmental policies for collection of data, patient safety and point of service collections
  • Follow scripting, anticipate customer needs, problem solve, and maintain consistent and positive interactions with patients and co-workers
