About The Position

As an Access Associate in TriHealth’s Infectious Diseases department, you will serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable guide for patients dealing with complex medical conditions. This role involves supporting a team of expert, board-certified physicians by coordinating appointments, ensuring accurate patient registration, and helping patients confidently and compassionately navigate their care. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Degree or GED (Required)
  • 1 - 2 years experience in Customer Service (Required)
  • Ability to operate multiple computer applications
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Typing speed of 35 wpm
  • Medical terminology required within first year of employment if not already taken

Responsibilities

  • Perform Scheduling or Registration functions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with TriHealth ancillary departments to coordinate care and communicate with patients and physicians/offices to obtain information necessary for scheduling and/or registering patients.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer patient questions, and resolve issues.
  • Collect copays, standard deposits, and deductibles.
  • Schedule physician ordered tests in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Correlate medical diagnosis with ordered tests/procedures for medical necessity purposes to ensure reimbursement.
  • Educate patients on TriHealth required legal compliance paperwork.
  • Provide financial triage, including directing patients with financial questions and explaining insurance concepts.
  • Adapt to a dynamic workflow and meet appropriate volume targets for phone calls/registrations per hour and other identified departmental targets.
  • Maintain accuracy in all tasks.
  • Follow regulatory and departmental policies for data collection, patient safety, and point of service collections.
  • Follow scripting, anticipate customer needs, apply problem-solving skills, and maintain consistent and positive interactions with patients and co-workers.
