About The Position

The Sheetmetal Academy at MHIRJ offers a paid training program designed to provide individuals with practical skills and real-world applications in sheet metal repair for aviation maintenance. This program is ideal for hands-on problem solvers with manual dexterity, introducing them to aviation maintenance, safety protocols, aerospace hand tools, non-destructive testing, and hands-on structural (sheet metal) repairs. Upon successful completion, apprentices are positioned to continue as MHIRJ employees, fostering a long-term career in aviation.

Requirements

• Successfully pass an interview, drug test, criminal background check and physical exam.
• Comfortable with hourly shift work
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to follow instructions
• Possess mechanical aptitude
• Able to work with checklists
• Demonstrate precision in thinking and working with hands and/or tools
• Possess curiosity for mechanical parts & features
