About The Position

The Academic Technology & Curriculum Coordinator provides comprehensive technology, curriculum, assessment, and academic operations support for James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine. This position reports to the Director of Admissions and Curriculum Operations. They serve as a key resource for educational technology systems and support faculty and stakeholders with technology-enabled teaching and assessment practices. The Coordinator manages curriculum scheduling, course documentation, evaluations, outcomes assessment, testing accommodations, and academic data processes. The position also supports faculty training, Outcomes Assessment and Curriculum Committee activities, accreditation requirements, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure effective, accessible, and consistent delivery of the College’s educational programs.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree
Two years relevant program experience.

Responsibilities

Provides continuous support for ExamSoft/Examplify, Brightspace, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, Panopto, and other approved educational technology systems.
Serves as secondary system super-user along with the Assistant Dean of Student Success and completes updates and/or modifications, as needed to support the curriculum.
Creates and maintains relevant educational resources, system procedures, user guides, and training materials for predoctoral and postgraduate programs and faculty.
Provides direct support to faculty and program stakeholders in the development and maintenance of Brightspace course sites.
Trains and consults with faculty, staff, and students on the effective use of instructional, assessment, and collaboration technologies.
Communicates system changes and coordinates with information technology teams, key users, and institutional partners, and vendors (when needed) to resolve issues and support upgrades or implementations.
Advises faculty and academic leadership on technology-enabled instructional and assessment workflows, digital accessibility, and universal design practices.
Works with faculty to mitigate the findings of institutional digital accessibility audits and update applicable materials.
Represents the College of Dental Medicine at college and/or university-level educational technology meetings and workgroups; communicates institutional technology directives, system changes, and implementation requirements to faculty, staff, students, and academic leadership and coordinates local compliance and adoption efforts.
Collects and maintains course syllabi each academic term; reviews syllabi for compliance with approved college templates, accreditation (CODA) standards, and institutional requirements. Provides consultation and support to faculty in the development, revision, and maintenance of course syllabi as needed.
Coordinates predoctoral curriculum scheduling, including course activation and modification processes under the direction of the Chair of the Curriculum Committee, in collaboration with course directors, faculty, the Office of Education Management, Student Affairs, and maintains curriculum maps, and related documentation for predoctoral curriculum. Coordinates elective offerings within the college.
Supports, maintains, monitors and initiates the Teaching Assistant process.
Supports postgraduate program coordinators with curriculum scheduling. Assists in maintaining curriculum maps for the postgraduate programs.
Creates, maintains, and communicates class schedules for the predoctoral curriculum, identifies conflicts, and coordinates approved adjustments.
Maintains assigned records, procedures, instructions, and academic documentation to support accurate and consistent operations.
Provides support for the Curriculum Committee, including meeting preparation, minute-taking, record maintenance, and follow-up on assigned action items.
Administers recurring course evaluations and outcomes assessments for predoctoral and postgraduate didactic and clinical programs, including planning timelines, collecting and validating course and faculty data, evaluation setup, distribution, reminders, completion tracking, and overall process management.
Configures, validates, and distributes evaluations through CoursEval, REDCap, and other approved systems. Utilizes multiple institutional sources to ensure accuracy of course, instructor, enrollment, and evaluation data prior to deployment.
Supports the Offices of Academic and Student Affairs by coordinating the collection, organization, validation, and maintenance of course evaluation and outcomes assessment data. Develops and prepares reports, summaries, spreadsheets, and other reporting tools to support leadership review and accreditation activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Maintains documented procedures, reporting processes, and repeatable workflows for course evaluation and outcomes assessment activities.
Provides support for the Outcomes Assessment Committee, including meeting minute-taking, meeting scheduling, record maintenance and other assigned support tasks.
Supports faculty with ExamSoft/Examplify workflows, including support of examination creation, formatting, configuration, posting, implementation, troubleshooting, and grade or data collection.
Provides technical and operational support for assessments assigned through ExamSoft/Examplify, Brightspace, and other assessment platforms, including downloading, troubleshooting, proctoring, data collection, and post-examination processing.
Coordinates and supports the scheduling and administration of electronic assessments. Coordinates and maintains the CDM master testing calendar.
Coordinates accommodated and makeup testing with students, course directors, the testing location, and appropriate academic or student support offices.
Applies confidentiality, accessibility, and records-handling requirements throughout testing and assessment activities.
Designs and delivers individual, small-group, and college-wide training for approved educational technology and academic process tools.
Supports required student affiliation and annual compliance activities, including deadline tracking for predoc and postdoc programs.
Provides logistical and operational support for academic and student-facing meetings, orientations, events, committees, special projects, and program initiatives.
Performs related duties as assigned that support the educational mission of the College of Dental Medicine.
