Academic Subspecialty Surgical Pathologist
About The Position
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking an Academic Subspecialty Surgical Pathologist to join their Department of Pathology. OHSU is a prominent research university and the only public academic health center in Oregon, with a high-volume surgical pathology lab processing over 61,000 specimens annually. The department boasts a collegial faculty, residency and fellowship programs, and excellent support from molecular genetic laboratories and a state-of-the-art core laboratory. This position offers opportunities for collaborative research, particularly within the Knight Cancer Institute. The role involves clinical service, teaching, and research, with an effort distribution of 10% teaching, 80% clinical service, and 10% research. The position reports to the Department Chair and Vice Chair of Anatomic Pathology.
Requirements
- Board certified in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology.
- Interest in providing the highest quality medical care and medical education.
- Actively participating in clinical scholar-type research resulting in publication.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical service in Surgical Pathology under a subspecialty sign-out model.
- Share evening and weekend call responsibilities on an equal basis.
- Participate in the instructional program for medical and graduate students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in committees and councils of OHSU.
- Engage in outreach and public service programs and professional societies.
- Participate in clinical and basic research programs at OHSU.
- Work towards funding research studies through grants and contracts.
